FK Lielupe captain Kārlis Villerušs won LU Football League October / November best player award.

Kārlis Villerušs overtook in Facebook vote Latgalīte Squad player Miks Babris, who represents FC Petrow in the LTFA Highest League on a daily basis. FC Meteor representative Ričards Ulmis took the third place, he was one of the main FK Metta/Latvijas Universitāte-2 players in the Latvian 1st League-B championship this summer.

Kārlis Villerušs (FK Lielupe captain): “It is a great pleasure to receive such an award. Many thanks to everyone who supported and voted for me. If not for this period, then for all of the LU Football League seasons, I have probably earned this award. It has to be said that each of the five candidates deserved to receive this prize. I have abstained from voting, but if there was a vote of the team captains, I would give my vote to Ej Tu Nost! player Edgars Jurgelāns, his performance really reflected to the result of the whole team. Let’s be honest, FC Meteor, Jautrie Zābaciņi and Latgalīte Squad teams have a very strong squad, and teams like ours and Ej Tu Nost! are highly dependent on its leaders, who must be able to encourage teammates. And I am very pleased that this season we have several players, who can take this role. We are looking forward to an exciting follow-up of the LU Football League, and we will continue to excite our fans.“
